Ghostbusters 3 Sneak Peek!

Don’t listen to anything Bill Murray tells youGhostbusters 3 is happening! Or, uh, happened. I should know, because I spent my summer working on it. Fed up with waiting for Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd to get the band back together, I decided to assemble my own ghost bustin’ team, and here’s the fruits of our labor – Ghostbusters 3, live on YouTube this morning – written and directed by me, produced by Caitlin Brodnick, and featuring some of the funniest talent in all of New York City. Enjoy internet, happy Friday.

I’m in court, here’s a sketch I was in.

So, guess who has to go back to the State Supreme Court for day 2 of jury duty? This guy. Apologies that my blogging trends seemed to falter this week – between a sketch comedy show on Monday and jury duty on Thursday, I’ve been spending my week getting as much work done as possible before I had to go do my patriotic duty.

Sketch comedy show? What’s that Matt Fried? Yup folks, I was finally in one of those. It was directed by Kevin Allison of The State (for all you non-comedy nerds, it was a very popular alterna-comedy group in the mid-’90s; they had a show on MTV). Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I got to work with some really great up and coming writers and performers. Here’s one of the sketches I was in: a parody of Top Chef. Since this was a class show, keep in mind we produced it with no budget and 12 hours of rehearsal (or, one lost weekend). Plus, my British accent is fake (I know, you would’ve never guessed). More to come, enjoy!

I Don’t Date Sorority Girls…

…for this reason.

Apparently, this poor girl is flipping out after using a fire extinguisher to decorate her sorority’s hallway for Christmas (wait, it gets better). After the chemicals in the fluid set off the house’s fire alarms in the middle of the night during finals, she ran out of the house and hid in her car. Her friend – like any good YouTube kid – had a video camera with her.

You’ve got to wonder what’s more funny/creepy: this girl’s over-dramatic reaction, or her cult-like pledge to “do whatever it takes to be an Alpha Chi.”
